If we import Chinese batteries now we are essentially importing the foundations of the modern economy from Chinese soil to American soil after which everything can be recycled in perpetuity for use in America. We should definitely develop our own battery supply chains but importing Chinese batteries in the meantime improves our national security. Steel tariffs are just as dumb a policy of invading Iraq and exporting our cheap natural gas and propane to China which Cruz also supports.
