The hiding of Like and Share counts is a truly amazing concession, and gives you an idea just how terrified meta was of this thing going to jury.

The thing is, no one really cares about the money; we care about the business practices changing.

Solid reasoning. Parents would do well to limit/deny their children access to social media.

Roblox should be plowed into the ground and the owners and investors sent directly to hell

Thank you. Looking forward to the self-owning objections from odious / vainglorious libertarians like @DadSavesAmerica (https://www.dadsavesamerica.com/).

Elderly with smartphones will be a much bigger problem…how do you get the phone from them before they descend into dementia??

Along these lines, here is a very well written criticism of AI (and the tech bro work) from the Federalist magazine (https://thefederalist.com/2026/08/28/opposition-to-data-centers-isnt-what-the-tech-right-thinks-it-is/)

"A sinister Stockholm syndrome was on display in that hallway, as these girls sought rest in the source of their restlessness."

Hey, I'm on the side of throwing the phones (especially for kids) in a dumpster the way Ron Swanson did with his computer. But, have you ever heard of worry stones? They've been around for a very long time (for a reason). I've had more than a few either in my hand or in my pocket over the years that I picked up off the ground. Perhaps this is what you were actually seeing, not Stockholm syndrome. From Brave:

"A worry stone is a small, smooth, polished gemstone or crystal, typically oval-shaped and about 3 centimeters in size, featuring a thumb-sized indentation on one side. It is used for stress relief and anxiety reduction by holding the stone between the thumb and forefinger and rubbing the thumb back and forth across the groove. This repetitive motion serves as a tactile grounding tool that redirects attention away from internal rumination, stimulates pressure points in the hand, and promotes relaxation and mindfulness."

Thanks for this. It goes much deeper than all other comments I have seen. And will prove very helpful.

Need to empower parents without doing ID checks on everyone which is very dangerous. Perhaps forwarding all activities to parents. Would have a deterrent effect even if parents were clueless.
